Brisbane Marathon brings the elite
Brisbane Marathon Festival are proud to welcome a fantastic contingent of Elite participants. We are excited to announce the fastest African nation of Kenya will be represented by Sammy Kipkoech Tum from Kenya.
Mr Kipkoech Tum will be looking to break the 13 year race record of 2.22.13 set by Robert Ellis. Mr Kipkoech Tum has made the long haul distance travel from his base in Kenya and is looking to break the record and take home a handy pay cheque and race bonus prize money.
“Mr Kipkoech Tum is an elite athlete representing the fastest running nation on the planet. We are happy to have him on the start line in 2013″, said Brisbane Marathon race officials.
Some personal best times of Mr Kipkoech Tum are below
– Marathon: 2.13.01
– Half Marathon: 1.01.35
– 10km: 28.20
Other names to note are Matthew Fenech from Canberra who will be looking to win the half marathon ahead of Queensland Half Marathon representative and local hero Clay Dawson. Brisbane Marathon is showing it true potential with a fantastic representation from all states and territories of Australia as well as over 25 countries across the globe.
Come along on Sunday 4 August and watch 22 years of Brisbane Marathon history re-written with some of the fastest names the sport has to offer.
